  2. 4 Stars only because the hit mix of "Walk Don't Run" - clean as it is - is not really STEREO. It COULD have been because EMI has the catalog of all these old Liberty and Dolton Records releases. In fact, EMI did put the stereo original of "Walk Don't Run" on its "24 Greatest Hits of /5(41).

  9. Of all the instrumental songs to ever reach the #2 spot, "Walk Don't Run" might just be the most influential. One could well argue that it is the first true surf rock song, as most of the genre's slack-key guitar and Tex-Mex guitar predecessors didn't have this song's snappy drum groove. What's even more impressive, however, is how well the song has held up.
